We hebben zoveel gezien, zoveel gedaan. Tijd om het even rustig aan te doen. We besluiten om hier, Peppermint Grove Beach, onze laatste 3 dagen door te brengen voordat we het campertje weer in Perth moeten inleveren. We komen tegen het einde van onze reis. Inmiddels weten we dat de plannen voor de allerlaatste 5 dagen in Perth veranderd zijn.
Het weer is zonnig. We zijn in de Wetlands van Australië, een soort moerasachtig gebied langs de gehele kust tot aan Perth. Er zijn veel muggen, ook deze caravansite staat er om bekend. Naast het jezelf bespuiten met anti-mug en het branden van wierookachtige anti-mug hebben ze op deze campsite ook nog wat anders uitgevonden. Rond half 6 ’s avonds gaan ze “foggen”. Ramen en deuren van het campertje dicht en anti-mug-mist-maken maar…..
Het helpt allemaal wel. Beppie is normaal het slachtoffer voor muggen. Nu valt het reuze mee!
De eerste dag gaan we een lekkere cappuccino halen bij de receptie. Effe naar het strand wandelen en weer terug naar het campertje om een maaltje te koken.
Er is ook een midgetgolfbaan, met extra hindernissen door de bobbels en kuilen in het parcours, waar we met plezier gebruik van maken.
De derde dag toch nog even wat ondernemen. We gaan naar Bunbury, want daar is een dolfijnenonderzoekscentrum. De boottocht om dolfijnen te spotten is uitverkocht, maar we horen van vrijwilligers dat er op Turkey Point dolfijnen te zien zijn. Dat blijkt ook zo te zijn, yess!
Ook nog naar een leuke art gallery geweest waar o.a ook ene bijzonder tentoonstelling was over kunstwerken die in de natuur uitgevoerd worden door arboriginal artists met gebruik van natuurlijke materialen in een natuurlijk omgeving. Er waren ook voorbeelden nagebouwd in het museum.
